Special Musical Guest Speaker– Dr. Mike Daley- The Elvis Presley Story
Dr. Mike Daley is a musicologist, specializing in the history of popular music. He holds a PHD in music from York University and has taught at Guelph, McMaster, Waterloo, and York Universities. He has toured the United States and Canada as a musician with Jeff Healey and many other bands. He is featured on dozens of recordings, both as a guitarist and as a singer, and has been published widely on a variety of musical subjects.
Mike will tell us the Elvis Presley Story. Elvis defined rock and roll culture in the 1950s with hit records like “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Love Me Tender” and scored hits well into the 1970s with songs like “In the Ghetto” and “Suspicious Minds”. The King of Rock and Roll led a life filled with triumphs and tragedies which is the basis of Mikes’ presentation.

COVID Protocol- We trust that members/guests will not attend if they are symptomatic, have had recent contact with a positive case, or have personal medical conditions which increase health risk.
Centennial College has dropped its mask mandate on campus; however, the Association fully supports the college’s stance on mask wearing which is: “We know that many people may still feel more comfortable wearing a mask… Centennial will remain a mask-friendly environment for all.”
We encourage all members to continue with the personal protective practices that they feel comfortable and ask that everyone respect and support the individual choices of other members, guests and college staff. In our effort to ensure the well-being of all attendees, we will update members on any further health protocols as they develop in this ever-changing environment.
